Default Are the clear side markers and turn signal backing legal?

Just wondering because i saw a ton of them at sacs2k days and now i really want to get some. I found a thread on ricks selling them but never really found anything about if it is legal or where to find the side markers. I dont care that much about the legality but elk grove pd has been known to get you for the little things.

There are no laws for sidemarkers. As rears go...they must be orange or red.

NO...I could give you a ticket in New York(any car other than a s2k).

Side markers must be amber, and tail lights must be red in New York.

What if they are clear and they LIGHT UP amber? I'm pretty sure that is legal in most states.

BTW, I think I have an extra couple sets of Stealth bulbs (silver bulbs that light up amber) for the front turn signals with clear diffusers. If anyone's interested, PM "R_Duff". They are in his garage.

No, there are NO LAWS in the NY for sidemarkers.
Only front and rear signal lamps

This is clear because many cars DO NOT HAVE SIDEMARKERS

My RL has no sidemarkers.

You are wrong...
Check the V.T.L.
If a vehicle is sold with sidemarker lights, they must be amber in color.
The reason why is different colors could confuse the average driver.
This is the same reason why every traffic light has red on top. yellow in the middle and green on bottom. If the arrangement of the colors were changed, operators would be confused.

NY 04, are you referring to the lights or the lens?

I believe all MY02/03s have clear lens with orange bulbs.

Which is fine. As long as it lights up amber or red in the right place you are fine. clear can only be used for headlights and reverse lights...
