Does anyone make a replacment for the yellow lens that comes stock with a white one like I see on the $900 headlights? It nuts to have to pay $900 for a $.30 piece of plastic..

there is a guy on here that works at a prototyping business. i have emailed him awhile ago and haven't had time to write back... this is what he had to say,

"I think it would be totally possible to make these, either from a direct rtv mold from the originals (which would yield 25 units per mold) Or we would have to create 3D files from Cad and Output a Master Pattern...Which we could even Vacuum Form (although the temperature of the headlights may be to hot for that material)."

He also asked if I had any lying around, and regretfully I don't... cause I don't have mine yet.

One problem --- How do you plan on changing the lens??

You would still have to disassemble the entire headlight housing (not easy). If you aren't careful taking it apart and putting it back together, you can get moisture leaks that will kill your lights.

disassembling would still happen, but you can have a clear diffuser instead of an orange one.

is not having any diffuser illegal in the states even if you have orange bulbs?

I wanted to get clears, still do. But some people like the orange. What's funnier is that people in the states want clears. People in Japan want amber. LOL

They don't have it online yet, but I believe it's around $925.

clckwrkrnj:

Do you know how much it would cost to make a lens replacment?? Maybe it would be worth it for someone to front some money and then sell the lenses to replace the orange one...

Any thoughts anyone??

Who was the company that said they could do this?

Chris
