Another case of a lawyer looking to squeeze some money out of a large corporation.
Agreed. Only the lawyers win with these cases.

true they get tons of money. Usually the initiating party of the class action law suit also gets a nice sum.

However, I was part of the Motorola V710 class action law suit and got a $200 or $250 credit for a new phone. So that wasn't too bad for not doing anything. Although Verizon sucks when it comes to bluetooth technology freedom.

I think I got a $25 credit for being part of the Bally's Total Fitness Class action lawsuit. I lost the voucher and never used it.

I also got $75 back for being a Best Buy employee back in the day many years ago.

Of course WE never make the big bucks from this, but its better than nothing I guess.

Unhappy

I searched and decided to bump this thread instead of starting a new one.

I missed the notice to opt out of the class action and was totally surprised today to receive a check for $360. So, it seems the checks are rolling out....anyone else received one yet?

hey does anyone else get frustrated with the s2ki search function?
its easier to search within a forum than use the search feature at the top of every page

Here's the website the class council set up:

http://www.hondaodometerclassaction.com/

Sounds like you get money in two ways:
1) You paid for a repair that should have been covered under warranty, but wasn't because the odometer read too high but was within 5% of the warranty limit.
2) You leased the vehicle through and paid for some extra miles. (If you went through AHFC you get the refund automatically.)

Otherwise, you just get a 5% extension on your lease/warranty. (For the S2000, the warranty goes from 35,000 to 37,800 miles.)

Does this extension also apply to the 5-Year/60,000 mile power train warrenty? I didn't see this anywhere on my notice.
