Chopping Down Rick's Aeroscreen
I've got Rick's 7/8 Aeroscreen and well...my bumpers popped off again. It seems to catch a little too much wind, so I can't seem to get it to stop rattling without using the bumpers and they've popped off three times now. I thought it might be better to have the screen shorter, maybe a few inches higher than OEM.... Anyone have an idea what tools I could use to have this done? The rattle drove me nuts for way too long, so now the screen is down until I can figure out a solution.

I made a windscreen a bit higher than the roll bars. In order to get into the secret compartment, I had to turn the whole mechanism around, and fold the windscreen into the cabin while lifting up the lid of the secret compartment. To stop the screen from blowing into the car at speed, I slit 2 pieces (about 6" each) of 5/16" fuel line down the center and pushed it around the sides, or rather, pushed the windscreen into the groove of the fuel line. Now it fits rather tight and doesn't blow in or rattle.
You might be able to do something crude like this. I know a lot of people wouldn't, but the black rubber on the sides touching the roll bars really doesn't look too bad. I will look for some pics to post.

Chopping down a Lexan aeroscreen is not something you would normally try yourself. I'd imagine re-polishing the edges would also be quite difficult. It's definitely a machine process. If you can't find a glue that does the job there are also 7/8 one piece aeroscreens you might want to consider rather than returning to the less effective stock version. They never move and are quite inexpensive.

You can get a special plexiglass bit for your Dremel that won't melt it as you cut it.
However, try the fuel line mod. I just got my 7/8 screen and that's what I'll be doing rather than crazy glueing stuff onto my roll bar covers.

A thought: Did you rub off the plastic protectant really well with rubbing alcohol, then let it dry before putting them on. If there is even a little protectant on there, nothing will stick to it for long.
