Default Choosing tires - please advise THANKS

To those who have owned or own a TypeR, I am looking for a set of new tires and I like the original RE10 a lot. Should I stick with it or get the S03? What is your experience on these? Thanks

The S03's are available for 76 bucks each in the 195/50 size. The price goes up a good bit if you want the 205/50's -- around 120 each.

I for one hated the stock RE010's and believe they are the worst tire for the (high) price.

I went with the S03's in the 195/50 size and am very happy. Fantastic dry and wet weather performance.

Other tires worth consideration include the Goodyear GeForce KD and Falken Azeni.

I currently run the Azeni's on another car, for the price they are a great tire -- alas they are backordered for the Type-R size ranges.

to the original poster, what kinds of driving do you do? What are your priorities, ie. long life, traction, steering reponse...etc.

To steve c.

I have very different memories of the RE-010, I'm curious about your reasons for not liking them?

Well guys, just today I received my SSR Competition wheels shod with the new Kumho Ecsta V700 competition tire. The traction on these things is amazing. Far better than the stock tires. It's my opinion that since the R was designed primarily to perform on a track, i.e. with the emphasis on handling, it makes sense to give it the best out there. SO3's are an ultra high performance tire, but they're just not as sticky as an R compound competition tire. I wouldnt compromise the cars abilities with a lesser tire. I bought 15x7.5 wheels and run 205/50/15 tires. They're significiantly wider than stock, and like I said, they stick like glue. I have all season's on my stock wheels for when it snows. Otherwise, I want the utmost in traction available to me at all times.
