Chirping Tires @ 60 mph
#61
BooRAH!
I wonder??? Can I make it chirp or bark if I drive it over a ramp at high speed, go airborne, press clutch, bury the RPMs, slam 6th, drop clutch and hit pavement with wheels spinning at 150mph?
I am hearing that bud light commercial 'real men of genius' again.

Not to be an ass but... Man O' Man... you guys are some party pooper... the reason I bought the car is so I could have a little bit of fun on my drive home from work. Juuussst a little fun after a hard day's work... If I can't even do that then I should've gotten a responsible car like a Camry or something. Save years off my back when I get old. The ride is not exactly back friendly.
Here I was feeling good and happy to share my experience but, hey, I wanted to chirp @ 60 and I got to chirp @ 60... mission accomplished... whatever.
Thanks for the leason, though.

the majority of posts here are trying to give you the best advice, including the reasons, in order to best treat your car. They're simply trying to tell you that what you're doing is hurting the car.
If you want to break your S, go ahead and go crazy doing it, but these posts were simply trying to save you from yourself.

Don't think people are trying to be mean just for the sake of being mean here..

You don't have to double clutch with modern transmissions with synchros - a nice rev match will do.
It really amazes me how people can pay good money for a "really nice car" and then turn around and blatantly abuse it like that. There are literally hundreds of folks on this forum alone, and probably hundreds more out there that have never heard of S2ki.com that have totally destroyed their transmissions and/or differentials while trying to do idiotic stunts like this.
But hey, it's their car......

I think that with stock power you shouldn't be chirping your tires unless...
1) you don't know how to drive (ie. revmatch, control the gas)
2) you have very crappy tires
Even with around 350whp+ (boosting higher in the cold temps), I don't chirp my tires with decent 255's.

I tend to lean towards #2. I've got cheapo tires from the dealer plus it's got the wrong replacement size of 225. So it has less grip.
...but then again #1 can't be too far off from the truth.
