Chirping Tires @ 60 mph
We all know how to chirp the tires from stand still but how do you achieve it when cruising at 60 mph?
A few nights ago a Z4 roadster pulled up next to me on the highway while going 60 mph. I guess he was itching to show off his brand new Z4. He revved up for a full 2, maybe 3, seconds and chirped his tires and pulled away.
I gotta say, it was pretty impressive. How did he do it?

i don't think our cars have enough torque to do this everytime. but ppl have been know to chirp the shift from 2nd to third occasionally (which occurs at ~60mph). yea riding the clutch to redline might do it.. it also depends on the condition (it is easier to chirp on colder tires + colder ground because of less traction)

His diff can probably handle it better. You would have to rev and side-step the clutch after down shifting to 3rd. Don't slip the clutch or you'll just smoke/burn it. If you have an AP2 you can probably forget it because of the clutch delay valve.
He most likely had the 3.0 (I think that is the size motor) and alot more torque.
Don't get loose at that speed or you'll trade ends a few times and end up in the wall or ditch.

You can down shift to third without rev matching and pop the clutch. I can't stress how much I suggest you DO NOT do this though.
his tires would lock up and spin outa control
