It does, sorta. When shifting faster, or with a little more power, the wheel will slip just a tiny bit. The VSA tries to correct it, making it become a power slide somehow. I have had my car go whacko with the VSA on sometimes. With it off, the tires may spin out a bit, but it doesnt make you go crazy directions.

Agreed, I'm not sure why anybody WANTS to lose traction. I had a 450 horsepower eclipse GS-T years ago that would spin tires in every gear through 4th... I hated it. That was the car that made me vow to never own another FWD car.
