The only way to not get chips is to leave it in the driveway. Period. If you get bent out of shape about it, it'll just drive you crazy. Get over it. If it gets so bad, you can always get the bumper repainted. Don't feel bad. A month after I got my '04, I had a rock fly up out of nowhere and put a crack in my windshield. To make it even worse, it bounced off the hood first. So I've got a little chip in the hood and luckily the windshield was repairable. I was about 7 car lengths behind the car in front of me when the rock flew up on a line drive at my car.
