Chipped and Cracked Advan RGII

Boosted521, I did not show you this topic due to the fact that you said you would not help me if I didnt go the UPS claim route. I did, but I felt like I was being given the run around, you telling what to do, and what not to do, to make things more convenient for you.
cmrs2k, its inside of the wheel. I dont have tires yet for the wheels either so that marks out the trying to mount them. I think I called you two days after I recieved the wheels, and how was I suppose to know that the rear wheel had damage, I was told that the front wheel only had paint damage. Also UPS showed up today. She noticed something that I did not notice, dirt in the chipped area. I was told that it was caused by the people taking the tires off the wheel, which may be true, but then why is there dirt in that area? Why did you not tell me that there was a chipped area before you shipped them? Cracks are caused by stress concentrations, which on this wheel was caused by the chipped area. I also would have atleast asked for pictures, which I did afterwards and was told that they werent good pictures anyways, that you just took them to remember the wheels you had. More then likely would have made a decision for you to send them or to refund the money I sent.
So if UPS does not cover the damaged wheel, whats next? You say it wasnt there, I know I did not cause it. If UPS does not come through on this, would you be willing to pay for the wheel to get fixed, as in gettting the crack welded? I still feel that I was not told about the damage, the chipped area, and that I should not be responsible for it. If I was told about, and shown the chipped area before it was shipped, this possibly could have been avoided.

So how about this... maybe SIIK03 should mail the wheels back to Boosted521 and Boosted should just refund the money (minus the shipping costs to send the wheels back to him). Boosted can then re-sell the wheels, fully disclosing the damage. Maybe the two of you can even split the repair costs and SIIK03 can keep the wheels. I don't know, seems like the both of you are reasonable people, you should be able to work this issue out via PM.
Just my opinion.

as i was packaging them i noticed that the rear right rim had a small chipped area on the inside of the rim. there was no crack present at that time, just the chipped part. knowing that this was not a big deal and would not cause any problems at all concering appearance, structure, etc. i shipped them off.
i love how people jump to conclusions

i would have photographed the suspect area and re-sent the pic to the buyer and said "do you still want em?". ~ meth
That is probably all he had to do. And if I said yes, and it came cracked, there would be proof that it cracked during shipping.
I am going to still wait and see what UPS does, might make it easier for the both of us if they claim it. But if not, I feel that he should pay for the wheel to atleast get fixed.

BOOO TO SCAMMERS BUMP!
Seriously though couldnt a wheel shop fix it so that there is no chance of it cracking again under regular driving? I understand when you may curb the same wheel and it cracks but what about regular street driving and even track time?

I talked with Boosted again last night, we are going to the shop that unmounted the wheel and going to get something in writing to say they held air and were not cracked. Believe me they remember Boosted because they had to buy him a new rim to replace the one they hosed. I'm hoping whoever worked on them this time can remember well enough to put something down for us.
This was my suggestion because this if nothing else will help with a UPS claim. I may be at a fault for always giving people the benifit of the doubt. But I know Boosted, and have for a while now, and no matter how fishy it may seem I believe him when he tells me that it wasen't cracked when he sent them. Or at the very least that he was not aware that there was a crack. I also believe SIIK03 didn't damage them...
If both of you can be civil and not give each other attitude about this, I'm sure something can be worked out that has both parties happy. Sorry I'm in the middle of something I probably shouldn't be since its not my business...
Sincerely,
Chris
