a 2000 with 10,000 miles- if tires are original replace. Change all fluids, tranny, diff, brake fluid, crankcase. Inspect hoses and replace belt.
This may be over the top for many, but IMHO, pull the camber caster bolts and put anit-sieze on them. You don't want this to bite you on the ass years down the road.

Great timing. I too live in Naperville, and just picked up an 2008 AP2, Red, 38K miles from Indiana. Let me know if you find a good resource.
So far the best I heard about is the one mentioned below-RCN(?) but after I picked mine up, I drove back from Indiana, and went to Schaumburg Honda.
I just needed to get fluids changed and I figured they couldn't mess it up.
Had it 'paint corrected' because it had some burn in from the rains we had earlier in Sept.
I have it stored now at 5'oclock tower near Carmax in Naperville. Will have to upload some pics.
Sounds like you had a great find as well.
Will have to meet up.

Last week I stopped by RCN. The guy is a very kind person and he listed me the things he wanted to do. I’ll update you, however the first impression is positive.
Tomorrow, if I can make it, I’m going to get the car. Hopefully

I am apprehensive about taking the car to dealers for fluid changes.
A honda mechanic once told me that if I thought I needed to torque the oil filter, I should take my car to someone more qualified than myself. So...maybe they don't do that procedure at his dealership...?? Which is worrisome.
Dealers were also using VTM fluid in the S2000 diff for a while. But...I think they may have that handled now, after a lot of diff failures.
Anyway, there's good and bad dealers. I just feel like you may have to hold their hands a bit sometimes.

Congratulations on your acquisition! I purchased a non modified ‘04 with 39,000 miles back in March. After doing a lot of research here and elsewhere, here’s what I did to ensure everything is fresh and up to date.....
Tires....although they only had 6,000 miles on them, they were 7 years old so I replaced them. I also had a 4 wheel alignment done. I’ve heard and read that most dealer service shops shouldn’t be relied on or trusted to do everything correctly, so the rest I did myself. I sourced everything from Honda except where noted otherwise.
Coolant......Drain, refill, bleed
Brake and Clutch Fluid...Flush, refill, and bleed
Transmission...Drain and refill
Differential....Drain and refill (Lubrication Engineers Duolec Gear Oil)
Rear Axle Nuts....loosened, tightened, and torqued to 250 ft lbs
Motor Oil and Filter....replaced (Amsoil 10W30)
Air Filter.....replaced
Cabin Filter.....replaced
Wiper Blades.....replaced
Spark Plugs.......replaced
Spark Plug Seals.......replaced
Valves.........adjusted
Valve Cover Gasket......replaced
Valve Cover Bolt Seals.......replaced
Timing Chain Tensioner........replaced (Billman)
VTEC Solenoid Gaskets......replaced
AIC........cleaned and replaced gasket
PCV valve.......replaced
Drive Belt......replaced
Throttle Cable......adjusted and lubed
Battery.......replaced
Idle......performed relearn procedure
Body Seals and Wxstripping.....cleaned and treated with glycerin
Leather.......cleaned and treated
Carpet.......shampooed
Convertible Top......cleaned and treated
Undercarriage........cleaned and detailed
Engine Compartment......cleaned and detailed
Exterior Paint.....clay barred, polished, waxed
With a floor jack, jack stands, and simple hand tools, I was able to do everything except the tires and alignment by myself in my home garage. None of the mechanical tasks were difficult since I followed a lot of DIY how to information and videos that I found here and elsewhere on line. It was fun, and I’m very pleased with the results.
