Default Check Fuel Cap

I accidently left the cap off and got this warning. How do I get this to go off?
I haven't disconnected the battery yet to reset the ECU but it would seem that there would be a way to do this from the dash. I pushed every button to no avail. Any help? TIA

It will automatically reset it self after the ecu runs the monitor. Just tighten the cap and dont worry about it.

yes what mrfixit said will work and should take several days of normal driving , if it is bugging you you can get rid of it instantly by doing this. Tighten fuel cap till it clicks . Start engine, turn key to off. Then repeat the starting process 2 more times, and it should reset.

Just tried the start/off sequence and it didn't work. No problem though, I'll drive it a couple of days and if I still have the warning, I'll disconnect and reconnect the battery. Thanks again.

It has to go through several driving cycles including full warm-up of the car. Just drive it normally and it should go away after a few cycles. The method described above will not work.
