Default Check engine light has been on since Sat.

I have tightened up the fuel cap several times, and the light has still not gone off. I discovered tonight that my passenger-side parking light is out (but the turn signal still works)....could this be the culprit causing the check engine light?

Take the car to Auto Zone, Kragen, etc. and have them check the computer for you. They will usually do it for free. Get the code and come back and tell us what it is if they can't tell you there.

That will make it easier to diagnose.

On a previous Honda I owned, it had an indicator light on the instrument panel that would let you know if you had a auxillary light on the exterior of the car out. I see no similar inidicator on my S2000, so I wondered if Honda used a check engine code to let the driver know about bad bulb.

Sorry I asked.

please be careful of the advice you give. modifry has the correct pins in the picture, but they are numbered incorrectly. pin 1 as he has labeled is actually pin 9.
