Default Check Engine LIght

Need some help!!!

The check engine light came on last night when I was on the freeway and decided to test the car.

My criuse control was set at 85mph than I accelerated to 120mph than the engine light came on which simulataneously slow down the car.

Anyone had this happen to them?

Your reply is appreciated.

Fill up with gas recently???

Did you forget to tighten the gas cap past three clicks. If so, tighten the gas cap the engine light should turn off within two to three trips.

Also, check your oil, just in case.

I checked the gas cap and it was closed tightly. The car was serviced less than a month ago for the 30k tune up. I don't get it!!!

BTW... this is known to happen on occasion for no apparent reason. If you have a REAL problem the light will come back on.

I had a similar problem recently. The light came on during some spirited driving. I reset the fuse, but the light came back on the next day. I took it in and they found a probable faulty TB sensor. Nothing was wrong with the car. I drove it until the new sensor and TB came in. They replaced it in about 2 hours. No problems since.
