This was an honest mistake that has been done before. It's tough sometimes to have it dawn on a person that you can't put "gear oil" into the tranny since the tranny has "gears".
It's not like you took steel wool to your car's paint thinking that it will put a nicer finish on it. (This is a running joke on another thread right now.)
