Why would a racecar manufacturer such as Aston Martin use bulb's that wouldn't illuminate well at high speed

Good question, I want to say it may have something to do with an experimental car class at Le Man's. I don't know where I am remembering that from though. I'm still trying to figure it out.

The DB-9R is actually required to run in yellow headlights in races due to it being a GT1 car verse the prototypes which run HIDs (this is how the drivers in the lower classes know when a much faster car is coming up behind them at night). What you are looking at is a promotional photo so the lights are green prolly to match the BRG paint.

Don't rice out your lights, S2K's already have the sickest lights on the road. If you forget, drive in front of one, they are badass.

I agree. I remember when I didn't have an S and I was on the highway saying what freakin' car is coming with those awesome purple headlights?!? Guess what, it was an S and now I'm wowing all the youngins...and some older ones too.

i dont know about ap2's, but ap1's headlight are not purple, they are pretty much pure white

the reason the audi's, bmw's, porsches' headlight are blueish/purpleish is because the way the projector is designed, not because of the color temp of the bulb, they are all 4300K

my favorite headlights are the TSX's, they are sooooo nice i love it
