Im sure most of you guys were happy with C&D when they praised the S2000 back in the day....and now you curse them. Its not like they slammed the S2k. Cars have changed...the HP war is starting up again. Im sure if the S2k came with more horsepower and a newer design it would be back on the list.

I agree with you, Matt.

At this point in the life of our car, and given the minimal changes that Honda has made to it, I think making a top 10 list is asking a little much. I don't blame C&D for dropping the S.

Perhaps with engine changes due next year, we'll see a re-evaluation.

It really doesn't matter. The S2000 has made a huge splash in the car rags for four model years. There's really nothing to prove, in my opinion.

The business about the Porsche being there, though, rankles a little bit.

Who cares? I bought it for me, not for the editors of C & D. I'm perfectly happy with it. Thats what counts

If you read most of the reviews often they throw an s2000 comment in once in a while and its usually complementry. The lastest was in the tsx review.

" The finger touch shifter seems ripped right from an s2000 along with all six of its gears."

They did a cool article about the s2000 on the bonneville salt flats.
They have done a s2000 Mugen article. They have done an s2000
comptech article. They have tested the car in numerous comparisions. They even did a story on one of the writers racing the car for a season. It has been on the top ten list two? times. This all from a car that has had only limited cosmetic changes. Over 4 years.

Car and Driver has done the s2000 no wrong! Lets face it the s2000
is old news. Old news that still gets praise and still gets, "What is that?", At the local gas station.

Enjoy fellas we are driving a true classic!

Car magazines are in business to sell magazines. You don't get many impluse buyers crowing about four year old designs.

Car & Driver has wonderful things to say 'bout the S2000 since day one.....

just in case you've forgotten or more likely, didn't know --

"..what cars could compete with Honda

If the 2.2L rumours are true, I'll bet the '04 makes C&D's Top 10 next year!

Also, if you have read any articles on sports cars in Consumer reports, the S is the top rated car there.
