Default Carbon fiber question

For those of you with carbon fiber hoods etc, does the finish hold up better than a painted hood? I can not believe how damaging stones are to the stock painted aluminum hood. When it comes time to repaint, I will probably just swap the hood out for CF. So, how does it hold up since I am not familiar with CF. Also, some of the CF hoods that I have seen on civics look greenish in color, is this normal?

I guess I should answer this question... IT all depends on the quality of the hood, but usually CF hoods have about 3-5 layers of clearcoat over them... You will not experience chips on a CF hood, anyways not suppose to. Many layers of clearcoat are put just in case you do scratch it, so you can sand it down a reclearcoat it.

As for the greensich color it depends on what kind of resin is used. In our case they look more chracol-titanium...

Here is a picture you might enjoy.
