Just leave the poor guy alone he wants to create a show car that will do decently on the track. I don't think he is trying to break any world records or anything. HE JUST WANTS A SHOW CAR THAT WILL DO DECENTLY ON THE TRACK.

Show cars are ghey.

I mean really, you drop a bunch of bank for glue/bolt on stupid looking crap that at best has no positive effect on the cars performance. Then you stand around at the state cow palace with a bunch of other tools looking at each other

Well, if the guy wants to spend his money, it's his perogative on how. Yeah, sure the things he wants to do are a little crazy, but what the hell. If I had the dough, I'd be doing crazy stuff too.

If you want to get the engine to 400hp, you have to start by rebuilding it and lowering the compression to something more suitable for a turbo. Invest in high strength internals and cam shafts/pistons/etc that will give you enough reliability to run 400hp. Then you have to add a stand alone engine management computer and have it tuned properly. Oh, don't forget the turbo, radiator, and other peices you'll need to get a turbo running.

After that, you have to replace the clutch to something that will handle the power increase b/c the stock setup surely will not. For your case something streetable, but not full race spec. Then, my suggestion would be to replace the rear end and upgrade the diff to a reinforced housing and gears.

Of course, you'll have to completely redo the intake, headers, exhaust and sensors to get the benefit of what you just did. Stick with Titanium for the weight savings.

Only after you have done that, would I think about upgrading brakes, looks, body panels and the such. By then, if you run out of money, atleast you have a bad ass S2000 that goes. BTW, you've been on this board long enough to know most of this. Maybe you don't read as much as most I guess.

I honestly don't think this guy is being serious... I think he's doing all of this to pull our legs and get a laugh. I really do respect everyone here for not flaming this guy out of here for his ridiculous requests and sometimes rude remarks...

Hey im2fargone2save, I think this has gone too far, and I think you should just quit now. Hopefully this thread will get locked so noone gets all riled up over some stuff in here...

P.S. IF by some slim chance that you are TRULY being serious, then I do retract my statements above. I do not wish to cause a conflict or seem hostile. I'm merely expressing my thoughts and feelings towards this thread...

Thanks for the people that gave some good info, and actually took the time to read the things that i have written about my intent for the car. Once again i'm not looking for a strictly track car, I realize that bigger than 16 or 17 is not good for track. Bomoheb nailed what i'm going for....thanks for understanding.....as for a vette or something like that....if i wanted a big car/engine like that i would have bought one instead. Also thanks cyclon36 for the info on how i should go about reaching my goals.... like i said before i have friends that own shops so going about the rebuild of the engine and such shouldn't be that hard to do....just cost money for parts. I also like the idea of starting with engine and such.....thanks again to the people that offer actual insight.

I am serious about this car as a project just fyi, i don't plan on it being the best car out ther i am just looking for advice on how to go about different aspects. This is my 2nd project car so i know what i'm getting into money and time wise....my last civic i tried taking shortcuts, but this one i am trying to do correctly the first time. For example I havn't looked into rims yet for the car so i was unaware that big rims are hard if not impossible to do with an S...i had just been researching breaks that i was going to go for....seeing as how through good advice people have given me i am now reconsidering the 12/8pot brakes and will now most likely go with 6....i am just looking for advice and suggestions on how go about building a descent (not best in the world) car that does well (not best in the world) at track and show (not both) and i realize that compromises need to be made in both areas to do such so i may end up with bigger wheels for show purposes instead of something that is more suited for track...... thanks again for the people that have understood that from the beginning.

I sorta understand where you are going but your rim requirments are going to a big PITA - I track my car and it still looks nice enough to show if I wanted to but the show scene means nothing to me!
I have a set of C-West CF front fenders + 10 mm sitting on my couch waiting to go on my car once the engine swap is done along with a new front bumper that I will custom duct for the intake and front brakes - I believe in function over form but I want it to look nice as well so I have to make some adjustments here and there.
