carbon fiber hoods do have a purpose other than reducing weight. a lot of them are vented which would help keep temperatures down if you had a turbo setup or something of that nature that would produce a lot of heat under the hood. I could be wrong, but I haven't ever seen a vented hood made out of metal besides the people who modified their OEM hood and cu their own vents. some people aren't up for cutting up a stock hood though. Lets not forget about that.

A lot of cheap stuff people put on their cars. CF is definitely one of them. Serves no purpose for your average driver, especially given the average driving skill set, doesn't look that great, and looks like absolute shit in less than 2 years.

Come on people, tasteful mods. Don't ruin these cars like so many people have done with the E36 M3/Supra/etc.

Carbon fiber is actually expensive

""Serves no purpose for your average driver, especially given the average driving skill set""
And our lips, side strakes, and countless other "no purpose mods" are ricy too then...

""doesn't look that great, and looks like absolute shit in less than 2 years.""
subjective. I like the CF look, and so do many people on this thread.

thank you. I agree. I see alot of S-Cars that look so ****in ricey its rediculous and looks like it has been reduced to civic territory. If your not gonna tastefully mod, dont touch the car. Including, but not limited to, the wrong, incorrect wheel w/o a drop, weird wings if your not tracking it. random carbon fibre bits, some carbon fibre lips look out of place. Weird chicken wire grills, etc.
