ok this just started happening to me a few days ago. whenever i just start my car for the first time or if it has been off for a while and i decide i want to go fast i hit 7k and then the engine just stops and wont go any higher. and i have done this in first and second gear but after driving for a while i can hit 9k no problem. it doesnt bother me that much but any suggestions of what might be wrong?

Look at the temperature gauge...3 bars = 9k.

Mother Honda won't allow redline until she is warm.

What might be wrong is that you're not letting your engine warm up before you gun it. So yeah, what berlinablackie said.

Your engine will also thank you for letting it warm up first.

Be careful when your tires are cold.
Check your oil level at least every two weeks.
Read the owner's manual off the Honda Owner Link website.
