Hey Guys,
This is my first post here at S2KI (first of many I hope).
Problem Description:
While driving at a relatively constant speed between 5 and 15 mph in second gear (navigating a small town with lots of stop signs), my car tends to "choke". I can only replicate the problem when the A/C is on. It's similar to running out of gas...which I unfortunately have nearly done twice in my S2000. I've never run it all the way out, but I have had the engine gasp a few times while low on a tank. Either way, that is what it feels like. It never lasts longer than a second, but it does make my car buck back and forth like a bull rider. Anyone else experienced this?
I doubt there is air in the fuel lines, as the car runs perfectly normal at higher rpms and velocities.

is it more of an idle issue? if so---map whack
does it occur when you're going one speed then accelerate to a higher speed? if so---like the other guy said, downshift

It occurs mostly when I am in second gear and holding a constant speed. As soon as I apply slight throttle pressure...boom, it chokes out. I know these engines HATE anything below 2000 rpm...but still. My Integra GS-R never had this problem. I lived between 1500 and 2000 rpm in that car when driving really slowly.
I have a feeling the cam profiles just dont facilitate this type of engine operation. Either way, its embarrassing.

I find that anything under 10 mph really requires first, putting it in second really just chokes the engine.
If im in stop and go traffic, ill stay in second gear until i decelerate until about 8-9 mph, then i'll put it in first.. and if im accelerating, I'll leave it in first until about 15 mph..
15 mph is a recommended shift point anyways in the manual, I figure the guys at Honda know whats best for the car

what is a map WAK, is that the same thing as cutting the power at the battery for aperiod of time and then re-applying it. my issue seems to be different, mine is basically at idle in traffic with the ac on, and then trying to accelerate. i spend my life in traffic so it sux

you literally 'whack' the map sensor on the throttle body housing.
gently though.
usually the search button is working and you can see quite a few topics on it, and more specifics.
