Default The car shakes with the top up at speeds over 65

I'm new to convertibles and I'm assuming that it's the wind hitting the top that causes the shaking. Am I wrong? Any one else experience the same problem. It's really pronounced, the passenger seat actually vibrates to a visible degree. I don't have the problem with the top down.

When driving the s2000 you can really feel the road. It's probably the road you're driving on that makes the car shake.

This is not normal. Maybe one of your wheels are out of balance?

I'd have it checked out. My empty pass seat would shake on bumpy roads at lower speeds, but never on the freeway. In fact it was super smooth at 153 with the top up.

Sounds like an out-of-balance wheel to me.

Concur. Or something more serious, like a wheel bearing. Could even be loose lug nuts. Get it checked.

How many miles on your tires?
I had the same thing. I changed the rears and the shake is gone...

There may be a flat spot or spots on one or more of the tires. That usually happens if the car sits for a long time, or if the tires were locked up and skid for a substantial distance. There was a pretty bad vibration in my moms Chevy Malibu, it turned out to be flat spots. New tires = no more vibration. Although if it only happens with the top up, then thats kinda weird. Anyway, get it checked out, hope ya figure out what is wrong!
