car repair blues
There was a string in January on bumpers that won't fit. I wonder if there was any resolution? I have had my 2002 S2K for 2 months, have 1300 miles on it. I have been hit twice, once on the front and then (can you believe it?) in the back while taking it in for repair of the first accident. Both back and front bumpers had to come off (front replaced, back just painted). Neither is on correctly and both suffered paint damage trying to get them back on. It's a good dealership and body shop, but they have little experience fixing this car (small town, probably aren't more than 4 or 5 in the whole area). Is this a known problem and is there a fix Honda knows about but isn't saying?

Im not sure about your case but once the bumper mounts are shifted or broken they can be a pia to realign.
Of course in the same breath that is what a good body shop should be able to do but I'd say that's your problem.
It shouldn't be any different to body repairs on any other car imo but if somene can correct me.....
If the paint got damaged putting them back on then insist that they fix it the proper way. That should go without saying.
How hard did you get hit in the back? Was it enough to shift the bumper mounts?
One sign of a good body shop is to be able to replace the panels/bumpers so that their alignment is not shifted and that way you cant tell that its been in an accident.
Good luck with it.
