Interesting that now, the tables are flipped again with the Valentine clearly leading over the Passport. It was reversed in a nother test I seem to have remembered reading.

I haven't read this article, but I'm interested to know the criteria that R&T tested and where the Valentine One excelled.

I have a brand new V1 by the way. Makes me do this..............:

I am dedicated to Valentine One, however a friend of mine just got a Passport 9500 for X-Mas. I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but he says it does everything the Valentine 1 does. He said it has directions and strengths and detects everything the Valentine 1 does. Also, he said it was $350, which is $50 less than the V1. I would still spend the extra $50, until the 9500 proves to be BETTER than the V1, which I doubt will happen. Anyone know anything about the 9500?
Thanks,
-Brandon

I love my V1 ... Simply because, well all the tests and research shows the results why.

I'd rather have a unit that locates exactly where the police cars and radar guns are...

I have been going back and forth a little on this issue.

A friend is telling me to buy a Valentine 1. I could care less about a radar detector. It seems someone else in a group drive always has one, I don't drive the s2000 at night and I always pay attention to the cars around me.

Also, with "instant-on" radar I would tend to get nailed anyway with or without the $400 V1 or any other brand detector when driving alone and on an empty road.

Has the V1 or any other radar detector saved anyone here from "instant-on" radar without other cars on the road (my only fear). If yes, how and what were the circumstances.
