First: the S2000 is not overpriced, the engine and chassis alone makes the car worth $33,000, 240hp from 2.0 liters. The 4.6L V8 and chassis of the Mustang are mass produced. GT: 260hp from a 4.6L!?! you cant be serious. I never used to critique Mustang fans because all they want is a powerful straight line drag car, which is fine, but not for me, but attacking the S2000 because you can beat it from 0-60 shows a lack of knowledge about everything else that makes something a great car.
If I wanted high horsepower, i wouldn't have gotten the S. Even after the turbo goes in in the Spring, i will still have 300ish to the wheels. Some muscle cars, Z06's, 911 Turbo's, Ferrari's, Supra's, RX-7's ect ect ect will still beat me. I have never been, and never will be concerned with having the most HP, its about the feeling i get while driving a car.
Second: I love reading articles like that because what they dislike, and what Stang fans critique, I love the most. Lack of creature comforts, practicallity, slower 0-60 times. I dont care, its more fun to drive than a Mustang. I drove a Boxster S and 350Z track this week and while both cars seemed a hair faster, I got back into my car and had much more fun driving it. Both are fine automobiles however and would probably make better daily commuters for someone who needs more practicality. Spend the extra $20,000 on the Porsche if you want the name, buy a Z if you want a well built sports car with practicality. But an S is you are a driver at heart, a real racer.
For me, it's about a raw sports car, small, cramped, loud as hell, and driving that car everyday is the ultimate in fun. I'll save the luxury and interior space for when I'm old, for now, give me an S2000, or I will gladly take a Lotus Elise.

I haven't laughed this hard since that fool on one of the other threads claimed to have beaten every Mustang, Camaro, Viper, Corvette, etc. that he ever supposedly street raced in his Honda.

I was wondering how the mustang was rated with a better Interrior
WIth all their features and ammenties
I ve been in each model except for the new Cobra and I think their
uncomfortable.
I think are interrior is definately cooler
Sweet Recaro Leather Seats
Digital Tach
Stereo Controlls from the left dash
Start Button
How could the mustang possibly have a better interior?
Look at the mustang and you tell me

The best thing about the Mustang is that there is a lot of aftermarket parts available.
That way, you can look forward to make upgrades ever time Ford OEM parts fail.
Car breaks down? "Yeah! I'll whip out my JC Whitney catalog and plan some quality time at the local vo-tech school."
Look, the Mustang is a nice car, and Burt Reynolds would be proud of you. But when it comes down to it, the Mustang chassis is just about as old as Burt, and has gone through the same number of face lifts.

Just look at what they did to Audi as well. Comparing 180hp model... they should have used 225hp model. And also where is BMW Z3 or better yet Z4 and Porsche Boxster/S. Now that is comparison I like to read about. C&D really drop the ball on this article.

You all have the right to defend your car, you spent lots of money, and got a great car out of it.
The fact is however, you were beaten in a popular car mag's comparison against a mustang. A mustang that costs a good $5,000 less than your car. A mustang that's made by FORD. But before you complain too much, you should realize what would've happened if they reviewed a Cobra (which costs the same as the s2000) against these cars. The cobra not only has 85 more horespower (and tons more torque), but it also has independent rear suspension. This car would've beaten the s2000 AND 350z on the twisties, and forget about the straight line. (My $24,000 GT is faster in the 1/4 than an s2000)
Now before you think I am flaming any of you, just know I think they are great cars. They handle nimbly, and there's nothing like the way the rev forever. But they are not the most bang for the buck you can get, nor are they the best of what's out there overall. You do however, get a lot for your money, and the s2000 ranks up there next to the NSX in my opinion as far as respectable japanese cars.
