I haven't laughed this hard since that fool on one of the other threads claimed to have beaten every Mustang, Camaro, Viper, Corvette, etc. that he ever supposedly street raced in his Honda. All these excuses as to why the S2K didn't rate higher than it did (bad driver, didn't know how to work the clutch, wasn't broken in, etc.) are the rantings of a bunch of sore losers. Face it - the honeymoon is over for the S2K. One of the most respected car magazines out there has spoken, and the 40-year-old Mustang, riding on a 25-year-old platform just spanked the cute little high tech, lower weight, overly priced S2K.
I was concerned that Mustang sales might start going down, but this article should help production out a lot.
80k to the glue factory? Hmmm - I feel bad now. I put 130k on my '96 GT before I traded it off. Got a good price for it too
BTW - this "twisties" thing and "straight line" are so tiresome. It's about overall performance on both and not one or the other.
Now I must run. We are savoring our victory over at one of the Mustang boards so I want to get back to that party. Bye bye!

You can keep your 4.6 liter ( or 5. slow for that matter) Rustang! The fact is this is a 2.0 liter FOUR CYLINDER that still keeps up if not beats your piece of SHIT on the straights and spanks you through the twisties! Not to mention that after 80,000 miles when its time for your horse to sent to the glue factory in the sky, The little S that could will just be getting broken in.

Personally who cares what they say? The S2000 wasn't built for everyone but for a very specific group of car enthusiasts who understands and enjoys what this true sports roadster has to offer. Yes, there are and will be haters and naysayers but who cares? The S2000 has the performance and power above most cars in its class with looks to match, period.

The 350Z looks good from the outside, but in the inside the car is full of cheap plastic, something NISSAN always does. The interior in the 350Z in my opinion sucks, the cheap plastic in the dash, door panel, and the way the tach looks is horrible. But this is my opinion.

You guys are waaay too sensitive. Who cares what C&D concluded? Their results don't make your car any better or worse than it was before this issue was published. Go out and enjoy your cars, no need to suddenly be envious of Mustang owners.
BTW, I drove a 350Z Track this weekend, and can't really fault them placing it ahead of the S2000 overall...it was pretty sweet. I'd prefer it for a daily driver, but the S2000 is still a better weekend toy IMO.

OK guys, sometimes the car magazines don't do or say what we want to hear. But if you must know, I bought my S2000 without ever driving one, mainly because of the excellent reviews in their magazines and repeated viewing of their TV 10-best vidcaps downloaded from their web site. Never regretting my decision to buy my S2000, I also never regret reading Car and Driver. You don't have to agree with everything you read.
