Default Car Cover for the S2000

I plan on getting a S2000 over the next 3 weeks and I want to get a good car cover for the S2000. Any suggestions? The dealer charges $243 so I thought that I would check around before I buy the cover at the dealer.

I purchase a Honda OEM dust cover for $225. and use it when I garage more than one night. The cover is custom tailored for s2k, its inside flannel lined cotton, fits perfectly mirrors, aerial, exhaust pipes, includes a storage bag, etc. and I am 110% satisfied with it. Initially, I tried to go the cheap route, but I could not seem to find a cove that would fit properly. My s2k's paint is outstanding in it quality and the expensive cover is worth it for insurance to me.
I park my s2k in a 45 x 105 ft. garage with my other car and landscaping trucks and cover keeps the dust off the car's paint and windows.
Cover includes usage and care instructions and I can share my experience for your potential benefit: Use only the common brand 'Fantastic' spray cleaner for detergent. 'Fantastic' is recommended by the cover manufacture because it does not leave any residue like most if not all other detergents. I found this to be the truth.
Find a commercial coin laundry with large machine and a spin/dry centrifuge. Wash cover in COLD water, 'dry' in centrifuge, DO NOT use dryer to minimize shrinking, and hang it on a wash line to complete.
Some time ago I found out I made this 'fatal error' using ' Tide' to wash cover for a former car. The car cover became contaminated with detergent dust, which settled on the car every time I used it, despite my continuous, innumerable, repeated, relentless rinsing, and never used the cover again. "Fantastic' eliminated this problem.

I recommend the following. I store my car outside in both winter and summer and have had nothing but great success with this product.

Wolf Automotive:
Noah weather guard

Custom fit to S2000 and will handle ANY (I've had as much as 1 1/2 inches of ice on it after an ice storm with no damage to top or paint) weather conditions.

COST:
$168.XX plus shipping and takes about a week to get to you. (Summit Racing use to have them for $149.XX + shipping, but they were never in stock)

click link and follow instructions from JC Whitney if your interested.

If you keep it outside, you should be using Covercraft's Weathershield, it's better than their NOAH. A guy on eBay has it custom made (a bunch of us have ordered it from him). It costs 199.99 which includes the storage bag, cable and lock. I think his ebay name is carstuff4sale (anyone confirm this?).
The OEM is only a dust cover, does not protect from weather. There are quite a few threads about this... use search

I've used both and there is no noticeable performance difference.

Only difference price, bag and cable. JM2C

Being you're in SoCal, the cover from the dealer is perfect. It'll protect your car from the sun, the moist mornings, and the occasional rain. Mine has proven the $250 worth it.

yeah, i've been using the honda cover on my car and it's great. the fit is perfect. there is no need to remove the antenna, plus the felt lining on the bottom side helps to pick up loose dirt and dust off the car's surface. i purchased mine from handa-accessories.com for $167 (before tax and shipping). the only warning i have is to take the cleaning advice from the instructions seriously (i.e. use fantastik). i used car wash soap to clean it and the cover is no longer waterproof like it was when new!!!
