Which color do you think would look really saucy for an S2000? candy apple red or Rio Yellow? I'm getting my can completely painted because I've been driving around with it keyed for like a year already. Anybody got pics of what an S would look like in candy apple red? any help greatly appreciated, gotta make my decision by this coming Monday. My car is ready to be painted! =) mark

I think candy apple would be yummy! Go for it, indeed!

There's a pearl red S2000 color available in Japan that looks really nice...

I intended to paint mine CAR when I got around to it...but it has been done, sort of. The 2003 Special Edition was available in CAR (essentially) with a lot of chrome trim.

Correct me if I am worong but.... If you switch colors you'll need to paint inside the engine compartment & door frames right? Will this cost much more?

You don't HAVE to, but the car won't look complete when you open the hood/doors if you don't...call it a poor man's paint job. A surprising number of kids do that to their cars for that cool, custom color but can't afford to have the entire thing painted properly. They also expect to win at shows, and THAT really cracks me up. I'll be repainting once I go turbo, but only then...I know the engine will be dropped for the turbo to begin with, so that's a perfect time to have it done.

I would imagine it wouldn't be cheap. If you do the door frames, you're looking at a LOT of extra masking to keep from getting overspray in the interior. The only way to do the engine compartment right it so remove all the mechanicals that are in the way. That means engine, transmission, stearing, radiator, battery, all electricals, etc., etc. Open the hood and take a good look at what's in there. You'll get the idea!

To make it look totally like the factory did it, that's a complete strip down of the entire body. Engine compartment, passenger compartment, removal of all the convertible top assembly and trunk. I would be a LOT of work and extremely expensive if you're paying someone else to do it but the results after the fact would be first class.

How deep's your wallet?

I would love to see a nice candy apple red..I was just thinking that color would look nice on an S. Especially with a matching Mugen hardtop.
