My blk / blk 02' is due on the 20th or so, I enjoy 99% of what the car has to offer (still not sold on the dash layout - IMO)

I have been reading the board A LOT and have noticed a trend of: Dealers not (for the most part) knowing how to work on one; 1-2 gear shifting problems; Tranny noise and other assorted problems.

Is the S2K a problem car?? Should I not consider it for these problems?

Oh, and no excuses like.....all cars have problems.....not all do

so far i had my car for 3 months, dont have a problem yet to date other than my NOS problem, which i did to myself

This past October, we bought a MY2000 that was built late in the year, it only had 2500 miles on it when we bought it. We haven't noticed any of the problems mentioned here. We worried just before we bought it, too, after reading a lot of the posts - but remember that this is an S2k-specific site, and people have a tendency to report negative experiences more in order to get feedback. After reading for about 3 months now (and driving the car), my experience is very positive. Go for it!

most of the problems that you read about on this thread are from cars dated 00 or 01. most of the problms have been addressed by honda. i have an 02 anad absolutely love it. of course i havnt had to service it yet, but then again, one of my customers is a honda dealership, so i am not worried.
but i strongly urge you to never buy when in doubt. that only leads to paranoia. if you are still not confident in the car, wait it out a little more until there is more feedback from 02 owners. but then again, one day of top down driving is sure to win you over, but i m not going to tell you that

No problems with mine either...never a regret...puts a smile on my face every time I drive it!

I believe the 1-2 shift problem was fixed in '02... and you get a glass rear window, and better stock stereo!

Don't let a few complaints deter you from getting this awesome car!

If you read any car board, you will see lots of owners posting their minor niggles (some major) therefore things look much worse than they are.
Enjoy your new car and do not worry.

I've had mine (MY2001) since June 2001 and have experienced zero major problems so far. Only thing that went out was my window relay which isn't a biggie.

Get it, you will not regret it.

People always complain, and not always post the good.

I've got a '00 model with over 30,000 miles. It's still going strong with no mechanical problems (other than a lightbulb I had to change).

If you want this car, you should get it by all means. There are many owners out there who have experienced no major problems.

Honda doesn't make problematic cars. Period.

I totally recommend this car to anyone who is in the market. I've had mine since May when I got it new with 24 miles on it. I haven't had a problem yet. It is simply the best decision I ever made. Right now mine's at home in the garage under a cover, but come spring time I will once again have that perminent smile on my face. Can't wait!!!
