Can the S2000 handle 20k miles per year?

Thanks for the feedback! When I read the forum and see the major problems that many of you have (differential and transmission), one can become a little leary of the S2000. This helps alot seeing your views.

Driven year round, with a bunch of track time. 65kmi in 4 years. Problem-free. (Other than normal maintenance and normal wear/tear, of course.)

As I mentioned above, I do believe some issues exist with the transmission. But I wouldn't really classify those as reliability issues, because for the most part, they don't involve completely broken transmissions. The transmission just tends to be really picky, especially when cold. It varies from car to car, and it bothers some owners - like myself - but not others.

Personally, I drive my S2000 every day, just like any other Honda car.

I have racked up 28k miles since 4/03 and haven't had any trouble- now have 43k total on the clock- of course I got a new clutch from Honda before the warranty ran out. I'm on my second set of front tires and third set of rear tires. Also gotta check the oil frequently, Mobil 1 @ $5 per quart gets expensive. Brake pads were shot @ 30k and they're already noticeably worn from when they were replaced.
To be honest, I don't drive the car nearly as hard as I did when I first got it. OK, maybe I slid around a tight corner this morning, but generally I just putt around in traffic with the top down. Can't remember the last time I hit the rev limiter. Of course, it is amusing to drive through the neighborhood at 25 mph- in first gear.
So, I expect it to last quite a while. If I was putting 2k track miles a month on the car it would probably blow up pretty soon.

I recently flipped 89,000 miles during a trip to The Dragon. The Bruised Banana is a MY01 and my daily driver...aaaaaand I treat her like a race car much more often than a daily driver. And she sure ain't no garage queen
