just curious if the the 02 glass rear windows can be tinted or will they scratch when the top is stored??

It can be tinted and will not be scratched ... Fact is, any surface can be tinted in someway or the other and have no problems.

my rear window is tinted with minor problems. My installer had a very difficult time fitting himself back there to get the film on. He did a good job but not great, there are several small bubbles in the bottom corner that could not be removed. I have used this individual in the past and had no problems. Overall I am happy with the results.

I am having my windows tinted on my S2000 very soon. I kept my wonderful MuzMat from my '00 so I definately should have ZERO problems out of that window!!!

Yes and Yes. You can scratch glass so buy yourself a Muz Mat!

You can scratch glass but not so easy, I've seen the new MX-5 and even the Porsche Carerra Cabrio which also has rear glass and they don't easily scratch unless you do something drastic to it. Normal wear and tear on a plastic screen situations will not damage glass.

tomzimmer - get yo-self a new tinter - mine had no problems, it looks great and has a guarantee no less... my hardtop also has the window tinted, and even with the crazy curve in it, she did a perfect job. recommend her to anyone!
