I do want to do the clear coat. I was going to do it, but forgot and put the wheels back on too soon.

I will coat with the clear before I go out again, just because I had some issues getting the decals to stick in the first place.

I bet it took them longer to finish a rack then the cars. Rookies.

Well, we did name one of the Cue sticks after you, Shifty. You will have to be invited over to S2000GT's to find out more.

Shift....

True it may have taken us a bit longer to finish a game of pool, but then again, we don't have as an efficient technique as you when it comes to thngs that involve stroking and chalking.

Nice job, rue. I like the look on my SS/R&B 2004 - the stock calipers look sad pretty quick, black looks worse IMO, and silver is "invisible". On our color cars, red is tops.

I do agree that "prepping" can provide a more "OEM" look, but I was too lazy, and these are brakes, not the Pieta.

Ha that last comment didnt get a "witty" comeback by the geriatric squad. You guys are losing your edge. Talking behind my back, and making comments when i cant hear or retaliate.

Enjoy.

ok here are my pics....

firstly, I didnt use the G2 caliper paint. I decided to go my own way and do them with a more custom color. After getting the car on stands and removing the wheels, my masking was a little more dramatic!! I basically covered the whole car in plastic sheeting and exposed only the calipers. Then I masked with masking tape. This was because I was using spray paint and I didnt want any overspray!

Once masked I then applied:

3 x coats of BBQ paint (high temp and rated to 1200 degrees)
3 x coats of a gunmetal metallic paint
3 x coats of clear coat

Overall I love the result. I am going for the silver/dark gray combo on my car with the smoked sidemarkers and black chrome badges so this worked out best for me. I think they look great - and a vast improvement over the sh!te stock finish.

After much deliberation, I decided NOT to use the S2000 decals, so if anyone is interested I have a set of WHITE and a set of RED left over.

Should have grinded down the cast markings. Still look good.
