This is the paint that I used for over 2 years on my MR2 and now have on my S. It never flaked or discolored or anything and looked just like it did the day I put it on even after 2 years. It was recommended to me by several others so I tried it out and it works great. I didn't understand the reason to buy paint that is labeled "caliper paint" and spend $35 for it when I could buy this at Home Depot for less than half that price and from what I've heard it works better. On both cars I used the gloss black on the calipers and the aluminum on the rotors and it keeps/kept them looking like brand new for the entire time.

My S:

My MR2:

Just thought folks might want another (cheaper) alternative that works great and has been tested for a long period.

How'd you get the S2000 on the caliper? Is there a stencil?

No,they are decals. I was running a group buy from the place that makes them in order to get them cheaper and my thread got removed so that's probably why you didn't see it.

I agree 100% with Stingerbtry - I used high temp gloss black engine paint that i picked up at Walmart for five bucks a can for my calipers - and they looks great (and even better soon thanks Stingerbtry )

i do like how Stingerbtry painted inside his rotors great idea! think i'm gonna have to copy him when i take my wheels off

Many people claim the G2 is very much like the Foliatec. I painted these about 6 years ago with Foliatec. The car was subjected to about 12 driving schools at a track that is hard on brakes and I was running Hawk Blue pads, so we are talking about some serious heat. After all that time the yellow only discolored slightly in a few areas.

Would I do it again? Yes and no. I did my S in silver and am very happy with it. If I were to do the CRX-Si again I would not do yellow. My CRX-Si shown here look dirty too much of the time.

As far as chipping is concerned, two thought. Keep in mind the prep work to the calipers BEFORE painting is the MOST important part of the paint job. These things have got to be super clean. Read all the instructions and DO NOT RUSH the process. I also believe most chips come from people putting the wheels back on the car. It is just too easy sometimes to bump the inner part of the wheel into the caliper.
