Default C-West fiberglass questions

I was planning on getting the C-West body kit but my only concern is that it is made of fiberglass. I live in NYC and my car is lowered as it is. Does anyone else have fiberglass kits and did you have a problem with it cracking or breaking with a slight bump? As far as I know fiberglass doesn't bend and so any impact will cause it to crack. Thanks for any help.

well i didnt have a fiberglass C-West kit but i had an Amuse lip and man did it crack ever! my friend hit a curb and that thing cracked in half like nothing! fiberglass really does suck, you definitely have to be careful especially that you live in NYC. good luck nevertheless!

I bought the first actual kit from Motorex back in December of 2000. I have had the kit for over 2 years and am at a 3 inch drop and have been for 2 years. I can honestly say I have no cracks what so ever. The kit is still flawless and I do daily drive the car. I have 39000 miles on it and thats a lot for this island. Anyway the quality of the "real" Cwestin kit is very good and I highly recommend it.
Good luck with your search and if you have any more questions, PM me.

Have a good one.

I prefer fiberglass. Urethane is too difficult to paint.

well i have the airwalker kit and i am dropped with kg/mm dr21 race springs. i have no problems at all with any kind of cracking. but i also know that the airwalker fiberglass is not a 100% true fiber glass. its a poly fiber glass mix which has special compounds in it to make the fiber glass much more flexible. giving it the ability to bend an flex more.

fiberglass is fragile in the sense if you bump or scrape something hard enough then it will crack. Chances are if you are going slow, it'll be a slight crack depending on how the lip hits the object. Urethane will bend and flex, so it'll just scratch. Fiberglass is a tad bit easier to paint I think.

Fiberglass can be repaired fairly cheaply, it just takes time and some elbow grease. Urethane, you just sand down to get rid of and scuff marks, and repaint.
