One thing I can say for two American cars I've owned in my life, they had awsome A/C units.

I've had the same problem before. Check out your condensor. A small rock hit mine and all the Freon/cooling leaked out. The dealer didn't warranty it, because they said it was "road damage". Now Com'on, the condensor sits right behind that big gaping hole in the nose... How can something NOT hit it and cause damage? IMO, Honda should've put some kind of shielding or design it tough enough for rock chips.
Anyway, $911 later, I got a new condensor.
I have a Coastal Metals grille now.

How many of you guys that are NOT satisfied with the cooling ability of the A/C have a grill installed in front of the condensor? I have been interested in putting a grill up there, but am concerned that it will restrict air flow too much.

I think it's inevitable that something will hit it and cause damage to the delicate condensor, sooner or later. All it takes is a small rock just big enough to make a paint chip, and we KNOW that we get those a lot.
BTW, I made a mistake on my previous thread, I meant to say Axcilla's grille works great.

I have the Coastal Metals grille installed too, and even in Phoenix my A/C blows cold. I have to start it at full blast, but within 20 minutes, I'm usually backing down the fan a coupla notches.

I only went to 4 bars once on the coolant temp monitor and that was because I was barely moving for about 15 minutes in a construction zone when the ambient temp was like 110-115 deg F. Within a few minutes of clearing the construction the temp was back down to its normal 3 bars. The A/C worked fine the whole time.
