[B]I'ver read the hype about the car in this forum and a little in car & driver, etc... I've driven a few and really like it. I'm buying one because of it. But let's look at the hypothetical....
Say, some guy in a ____ pulls up next to me at a stoplight and wants to race. Assuming both cars are stock, who can I probably take (assuming I learn to drive the s2k well), with these cars filling in the blank.

one more thing...all this bs about not giving a shit about driving in a straight line because it requires no skill...given the same 2 cars, I will beat 90% of you people driving in a straight line. Of course it is sometimes not as fun as autocrossing etc but I dont see whats wrong with driving in a straight line. Can you do 180mph at an autocross?
Geez. I realize the S2000 is not a drag car. Shit I owned one. I could have had a TransAM or SS for straight line speed but I just thought the S2000 was a much much better package. That doesnt mean that I wouldnt drive it fast in a straight line. Its a sports car. Its meant to driven fast in all directions. Of course, if you cant afford to replace the differential or the clutch, then dont do 7000rpm dumps. But I dont understand why the hell people on this site look down on others that do like to drag race their cars.

THe S2000 is not a drag racer, it lacks the torque, horsepower, clutch, transmission, and drive line.

Here's another experienced voice telling you to shift at redline. However said to shift at 8200-odd RPm is clueless and I would pull at least a carlength on them by the end of 2nd gear.
And you'll have to drop the clutch to light up the tires to beat most of the cars listed from 0-60. Who are the crazy guys saying the 350 will "own" us? Looks like a driver's race from 0-60, but the 350 is probably easier to drag well.

The car is there to be driven, as YOU want to drive it. what other naturally aspirated 2.0 L cars have a 5.5 0-60? (don't go to the lightweights / elise etc)
The car can do anything you want it to do. personally i like drifting, not putting my mind with someone at the lights. Tf thats what you want it for, buy a civic and get a turbo kit on it.
sideways is the way to go...
