Buying my first S2000!
Hello,
I need a faster car! I have a 08 Honda civic right now, and was thinking of a Honda Civic Si or S2K! I'm def. leaning more on the S2K, it's a car that i've always wanted. I didn't have the money before but now I can afford one! I just have a question for you guys! Should get a Ap1 or and Ap2??? That's my biggest question! I asked a few friends but they don't have an S2K so I know you guys would know better! Pls. let me know asap I am aggressively in the market right now! Thanks!!! Anthony

After owning an AP1, I would go with an AP2. Slightly more torque, and upgraded interior and exterior, and a softer ride. The extra rpms in the ap1 wasn't worth it for me.

AP1 all the way! I traded with my friend for a drive. He has a 2005, and he liked mine more also. The Ap2 is nicer on the inside, but his also cost over 2 times as much. Got mine with 54,xxx miles for 12K.
Just a thought: Don't blow all your money on the car. Save a little for a set of wheels and tires.

I know all the board vets are itching to say this so...
SEARCH
ap1 vs. ap2 discussion been done to death.
But I'll be nice since my position has changed as I was an AP1 or nothing guy, buy the newest one you can afford, plain and simple. Unless you have godlike driving skills, whatever benefits either has wont really come into fruition.
If you buy an ap1, stick with 02+. Yeah yeah lots of 00-01 owners had rock solid cars blah blah the 02+ is the way to go for more than just the leather center and glass window. Unless of course you get a stellar deal on an 00-01.
Me, if I were looking again, I'd prefer an 04-05 but I'd get the best deal I could find (lowest mileage, best condition, lowest price).

Search is your friend. There must be at least 500 people on s2ki who have asked the same question before. The answer is like trying to tell someone why chocolate is better than vanilla, or vice versa. Drive both, and the differences will be apparent. After 2 AP1's, I'd go for an AP2 if I were to get another S (not that I plan to) if for no other reason than to sample a little different flavor.

Wow, I didn't think I would get some responses so fast!!! Thank u guys so much!!! Man, I am so confused and anxious I just wanna drive my own S2000! I will use the idea of driving both! I am test driving an 03 on saterday. It has only 38k miles, one owner, great cond., and goin for $16,900. It's less than my $19k budget! I can't really find a Ap2 (2004-2006) with great cond., low miles, and along my budget! I'll keep you guys posted!!! I just can't wait!! Thanks again ya'll!!! Anthony!

Don't buy a 2003 for $16,900!!!! That's not a deal. Keep searching you can find a 2003 with the same miles for $13,000...easily. $16,900 should get you a 2005 or 2006 with <50K miles.
