1400 miles and not a drop -- just checked it before work this AM. I did perform a text-book break-in -- but since about 650 miles, I have been VTECing quite a bit. I am starting to wonder whether I should be worried or not?

I noticed that I am usually around 4-5k RPM when driving around during rush hour to get in VTEC when needed. When I get on the beltway, I usually stay around 6k during my high speed cruise for about 30 minutes.
I kinda drive it like I stole it! Maybe I just like listening to the HKS exhaust.

Mine also used no oil up to about 600 miles, but is about 1/2 way down at about 1000. This, I suspect, something to do with the 9000 RPM to which the engine is now frequently exposed.
Where's it going? Judging by the fact the tailpipes looking like well-seasoned woks, I think I can guess. And this is a LEV?

Gentlemen, what beets me, is Honda's intention by publishing an Oil consumption service bulletin to calm the crowds as being something normal.
Suckers! How does the s2000 keep the Low Emissions Rating if it burns all that oil? Where is all that oil going? Why is it normal to burn oil regardless of driving preference? If this was meant to be why not add a bigger oil pan to support enough oil until the next oil change, or even better why not adding a little compartment as 2 stroke engines to put extra oil so that it adds it as needed?
Don't you guys think this was normal it should have been taken care while testing?
I think Honda wants to keep it cool since fixing 15000 engines still on warranty and a reputation to save is worth a little lying.
I am on 18k miles and losing about a quart of oil every 3000 miles. I drive normally except for when I step into VTEC for a couple of minutes, but 90% of the time I am below 6000 RPM.
I say we write a nasty formal letter, run it by a lawyer and send it to Honda with hundreds of signatures requiring action or protection.

I know this is a very controversial topic but I was told by my service manager (15 years with Honda) that this car should not have synthetic oil put in it. The reason according to him? Essentially it's too good for the car and not suitable for the fibre re-inforced cylinder walls of the F20C. Something to do with it glazing the cylinder walls and not breaking in properly.
