S2Ki forums,

Yo everyone, whats up? I just got my S about a month ago. I'm in film school all hours of the week so I don't get to drive it as much as I want to. Just got it up to 130 the other day, such a smooth ride once it gets going. I'm an interesting case, my last 'toy' was a "Mini Truck". Basically a low rider, but a 'sport truck' to those in the scene. I've gone from low rider, to import, hard transition.

Didn't take long for me to fall in love with the S and want to start doing things to her. She's 2000 yr. with 27k miles. First and foremost, I want to get some wheels on her. I don't know much about racing rims but I want them high quality and to look immaculant on the car. I have a good eye for stylizing, but I don't know the specifications of the car's well. On my old truck I could go as big as a 20" wheel, but not 21" (I only had 17" wheels, but thats not the point). What width and height (including tire) specifications do I have to work with on the S2000?

Second, if I install a aftermarket cd deck in the car, can I still use that little remote in the dash to the left of the s. wheel?

Lastly,
I'm looking at exhaust and want to go all out. Is it possible to run seperate pipes (not Y)? What kind of clearance issues do I need to worry about?

Any advice on pipes? I like throaty sounds, not the 'humm buzz' heard on every OTHER Honda on the road.

Thanks for any help guys (gals). It feels good to finally be a part of the club!

Wow!

Hey thanks for the fast reply, that was great! I've been running all over Orlando today trying to figure out where the tuner shops are to answer these same questions (no luck).

As for the straight pipes, never had a 4 cyl. and I'm not afraid to admit I don't know much about em. Thought it would be good for the car. I assume that it's not by your question

I've got a little reading to do in a second from those links you gave me, but can anyone help me out on something? I went out and got the new '04 tailights for the S because they look so damn good. I know I've got a little customizing to do to get those things in. Any advice on whether or not someone makes a kit/adapter for the housing? Any advice in general?

I'm looking at the headlights and possibly the '04 bumper if I don't get an aftermarket.

Thanks again. I'll let this post fizzle out a little before lighting it back up again.

Welcome, and be careful.

Afterall, you are new to this car and it is like no other.........especially at the limits. We don't want to read a post of your in a week stating you spun it out or curbed it.

Rims have gone up to 19", but that is pure bling and no performance. The consensus for performance seems to be 17", as the weight of the larger wheels work against you above that size.

For the deck/CD, there are controllers sold here by modifry (a site member) and I think lucid (site sponsor), that allow you to still use the dash controls.

For exhaust......well first understand we have an in-line 4, not a V, so the exhaust manifold is all on the same side of the block and it would be very difficult to split it into two pipes running all the way back. Instead, Honda split the pipes at the "Y" to give the dual exhaust look. Technically, a single exhaust gives better performance (generally), but alot of us love the look of the dual, so we stick with it even in aftermarket. Spugen is one of many brands, but the one that is quite popular here on the west coast. They are very well priced, put out a throaty/deep tone (with Magnaflow canisters) and they hace EXCEPTIONAL service. Single, dual, stainless, titanium.....they have what you need.

Enjoy the car, and please be safe (or safer),
Hockey
