You are asking a question that can very easily be answered by using the search function.

Both intakes offer similar gains. Which is very little, you simply are not going to get much from any intake on this car.

Comptech: Slightly more expensive. CF cover looks snazzy. Does not run the risk of hydrolock. Healthy growl.

AEM: Less expensive. Leaves engine looking very open. Risks hydrolock. Pretty darn loud. Install will involve some cutting of plastic.

go for the aem! Anybody can tell you that the aem will at the least sound the best. Also, if I'm not mistaken, if you go on the aem web-site they show a dyno of around a 10hp gain from the aem cold air. Also, from what I've read the chance of hydrolock is is very low as long as you take the proper percautions that are explained on this site. can be found on the search function

I've been looking at intakes too. AEM website claims +7hp and +8 tq and Comptech website claims +5hp and +5 tq. I have also been hunting for prices:

AEM V2 Intake prices (includes shipping):
www.bulletproofautomotive.com - 275.40
www.ptuning.com - 266.95
www.ajusa.com - 265.00
www.evasivemotorsports.com - 239.00

You can agree or disagree with me I'm just going by the manufacturer's website. I think I'm going with the AEM V2.

If you are worried about hydrolock, AEM makes a special adaptor that will not allow any water to make it to your engine.

AEM. Have it. Love it. Sounds absolutely incredible. Cant go wrong. I like the openess of the motor now. Exposes the whole front; pulleys, belt, leaves an awesome mechanical look. And in my IMO, throttle response is improved i.e. no bogging in high heat and HP increase is noticeable in upper rpm's. Get the bypass valve if hydrolock is a concern and you're good to go.

I've heard great things about the K&N FIPK Gen. II, but have no personal experience with this product. K&N claims almost 10whp!

Oh yeah and don't forget that w/ the v2 you can bend over the engine bay to reach down into the oil drain plug. This allows for such an esay oil change.

believe it or not, I actually managed to crawl under the car - without jacking it up

but anyway, hardtopguy has the comptech for $320+ I think. cheapest I could find. love it. it's got the low rumble going on until WOT when it starts howling

http://www.knfilterchargers.com

K&N has a couple
typhoon 69-1041TS at 7.8 HP @ 6500rpm short ram (SR)
typhoon 69-1040TS at 6.7 HP @5500rpm cold air (CA)

Fipk 57-3514 at 9.55HP @ 6500rpm

$$$$$$$$
www.4filters.com
57-3514 $293.84
69-1041TS $208.07 (sr)
69-1040TS $242.00 (ca)

Short ram during the summer you will just puck up hot air from engine area..... NG
FIPK or CA

I had a AEM CA on another car and I did lock up the engine with water, pulled plugs and cranked it over the get water out of cylinders and tear apart half the engine for the intake
.... so no CA for me

FIPK or look at more info on Comptech....
