It's called supply and demand. More people want tops than the numbers that are out there, so the price goes up. I'm sure you will see them listed for $6 or $8k soon enough. Funny how people always "LOL", until they realize that the thing that they could have bought for $4k is now $10k. No I don't have one for sale!

Maybe make a nice DiY Sticky... of getting one on eBay UK, recommendations for a reputable company that can pick it up, pack it and ship it to the US. They seem to be had for super cheap there. Plus maybe $1-1.5k in s&h costs?

If anyone here has done it themselves, please chime in and share how you did it. I'd bet it'd be cheaper than the $4k total that everyone seems to slang them for in the US.

Yeah, if you can get a good deal make it so everyone can do it and prices skyrocket abroad too.

Fck that.

I don't think they're as high in demand as they used to be. I think if anyone is paying close to 4K now you're getting ripped off. There are several here in FL that have a $3500 list price with all hardware and they've been sitting for months.

I've owned and sold two over the ownership of my car and each time it wasn't an easy sale.

The ownership age of our car has also dropped dramatically. I don't think most of them will spend 4k on a hardtop for their 8k car.

This is actually quite accurate.

As far as all the "lets bring these MF's down" comments....

The company being discussed in this thread offers the convenience of buying a top from someone who warehouses them in one location, and has a reputation at stake.

The point of opening a business is profit...not charity. This business hasn't done anything wrong. You think ANY of the vendors on S2ki sell parts for what they paid for them?

Not sure why there is this communist sentiment in this thread.

If you don't think its a fair price...don't buy one from them.

If you're mad that they are snatching up hard tops and taking them off the market...then buy one from the source. Go through the trouble yourself.

Or...don't buy a hard top. You'll live.

$4500?! That'd better include free shipping.
