Brake Pad that does it all!?
I know what you're going to say. I should get a pad for both the street and a pad for the track. I may eventually settle into that reality.
However, I wanted to give it one last chance before I have to resort to changing pads (which are a pain for me living in a condo, etc.) for single day events.
There's unfortunately a void left by the disappearance of the old Cobalt GT-S which came as close to being an all around performer for track and street as possible. The new ones seem to be track only. They had a real good niche before they changed the formulation. The OEM pads perform OK for me (still a relative newbie at HPDE), but I went through over half its life at my last HPDE.
Anyone have any street experiences they can share about the Panther Plus or AX6, or Hawk HPS or HP+? Anyone keep them on all the time? Is the dusting, squeaking intolerable? Wear and tear to wheels/rotors?

Hey I use XP8s for daily and track. They make a little noise when they are cold. But under normal braking they are ok. I have used them for three to four track days. They really only start to fade after 10 min on the track. Thats about 5 to 6 laps (By then my tire are way to hot anyways). It does not wear the rotors at all.

There is NOTHING that does both well. If you are only going to get one, get a track pad and drive them on the street. Say goodbye to clean wheels and hello to brake squeal.

You're not using XP8's for the street though, are you?!?!? XP's would be very nice but I would think that you HAVE TO switch them back and forth with a street pad when you're done with your event.

Once again they do not eat the rotor but you have alittle more dusting then normal.

Xp8s are driveable. I have XP10 front and XP8 rears on my car now. I haven't bothered switching since my last track day which was June 2nd.
But my wheels are FILTHY and the brake squeal is HIGHLY noticable.

Has anyone tried the BHP pads?

I know there was an autoxer that was using them. Sounded pretty promising.

I use the AX6's and I leave them in all the time. The squeak a little when cold but they hold up well for HPDE. My next set will be the xp8's but then I will definitely switch for track days.
