Just change to Ap1 front pads, no more dust. I hate washing my front wheels.

I have wondered about this too (brake dust on front wheels). This seems to happen on most cars. My theory was that when you are turning + braking the dust will be carried by the wind underneath the car through the wheel and onto the exterior of the rim on the inside of the turn. With the back wheels it would be more likely to drop straight down. Add to that the fact that (as you mentioned) the front brakes are performing more of the stopping. Just an idea. Someone might have a better explanation for why this happens.

Um, yeah. Drive slower and use your brakes less.

I'm not normally a smart ass, but I couldn't resist. The site is dead tonight.
I'll do you one better

Drive backwards, then the rears will have more brake dust and the fronts won't. You also wont have to deal with the pesky oversteer problem.

... the damn car looks dirty three days later.
BMW's are even worse. I swear the brake dust starts accumulating on the fronts before putting the car in the garage after washing it.

Just use your e-brake everywhere. Problem solved.

I also switched brake pads and my wheels are much cleaner longer. Ceramic pads are great at keeping the dust down.

i cant wait to change my ap2 oem pads to ap1 s for this reason.
I think this helps. Consider this. I get very little brake dust from my AP1 pads.
