brake dust more on the front

I have wondered about this too (brake dust on front wheels). This seems to happen on most cars. My theory was that when you are turning + braking the dust will be carried by the wind underneath the car through the wheel and onto the exterior of the rim on the inside of the turn. With the back wheels it would be more likely to drop straight down. Add to that the fact that (as you mentioned) the front brakes are performing more of the stopping. Just an idea. Someone might have a better explanation for why this happens.

Drive backwards, then the rears will have more brake dust and the fronts won't. You also wont have to deal with the pesky oversteer problem.
