Warning: Not for the faint of heart.

In my apparently never ending quest to destroy my car, I blew the engine horribly. I made a very, very stupid mistake at TWS the other weekend. I missed a shift from 4th to 5th at 116 mph and eded up in 3rd instead. The engine did not like going over 10,000 RPM one bit. I'm not feeling very good about myself right now after screwing this up so badly. I had to get a whole new engine (block and head). My guilty conscious would not let me lie to the dealer and say it wasn't my fault, so it was not covered under warranty. Very, very expensive.

#1 piston is a mess

#2 cylinder head is not too bad...

AHHHH! Holy Cow! Look at the #1 cylinder head!

You can barely make out what used to be a valve stem

Hey Dave,

How are they comming along with it? It was what we suspected in it's worst form. My car will be up there on Monday for a new clutch/pressure plate/flywheel, my clutch is slipping badly now. When it rains... it pours.

Just wondering, if you mind telling, how much does it cost for all the replacement parts not including labor?

Glad to see it coming along so quickly!! Have you thought about insurance helping out with the cost? Talking to you that day, I could tell you were bummed but look on the bright side: third F20C has got to be the charm!! You have to go through break-in again!! Arrrgggg... Hope to talk/see you soon.

OMG! That really scares me. Why so much? That really makes all us SC owners really worried about how much a rebuild would cost if the sh*t hits the fan.
