I got a cheap rack at target. It definitely scuffed the paint and even left some black marks behind. however, if you put some microfiber towels between the rubber shit, it won't be too bad. The hooks actually didn't do any damage, just the rubber cushion things.

i was thinking of putting painters tape under it on the days i use it. That might work.

I have the 2 bike version of the Saris Bones.

I haven't used it on my S, just on my beater. It didn't scratch the paint, it just left some small black scuff marks which came off when I washed the car.

But I usually don't drive more than 10 miles with the bikes.
