bike rack w/ s2000?
anybody tried using any kinds of bike rack on a s2000? if so, which one? cost? does it work well?
i know that a s2000 probably won't look AS GOOD w/ a bike rack on it. but i would be interested in knowing if that works at all?
thanks a lot.

I'd be concerned about using any rack that sits on the trunk and/or bumper. The bumper is plastic and not that strong. Straps that secure this type of rack can potentially damage paint, and the contact points will scratch sheetmetal.
The only way I'd put a bike rack on my S2000 is one that slides into a 1 1/4" receiver. Da'Lan makes a nice hitch for our car: https://www.s2ki.com/article/articleview/125/1/58/
Installation photos are in the FAQ.
Perrine Trailer Hitch sells bike racks that fit into the receiver:

I've installed the 1 and 1/4 receiver hitch noted above...a little work but it turned out great. It's not very noticable at all, and basically does not detract from the fine looks of our S2000. Any good quality receiver hitch rack should work fine. The rack and bikes do not touch the car. I've carried two bike, and the additional 60 pounds in load is mostly carried directly to the frame.
If you deceide to do it, and need any suggestions, let me know.

I am an avid cyclist and have a Saris Bones rack for my stook. It has very soft neoprene pads for the trunk and bumper. The strap buckles are rubber coated and nothing on this rack scratches the cars finish. It is very stable at highway speeds and folds easily and actually fits in the trunk. I believe it was around $100 and can be purchased through most good bike shops. Best one available especially if you dont want the ugly bumper hitch sticking out the rear. Happy Biking. Ray

This is a 'Hollywood' bike rack made in the U.S.A. I had just about given up on getting one to fit my MR2 when I got this one from a specialist bike shop. It wasn't cheap at about

You might want to look at www.allroadster.com; I haven't seen the product itself but the photos of the luggage rack and bike carrier attachment look interesting.
