I 'heel toe' with the right sides of my foot. the ceter of my food rests on the bottom right corner of the brake pedal...and the right side of my right foot blips the throttle. I have size 12's and I cant even fit the foot sideways enough to heel-toe

I heel toe the same way as well but i found it difficult in my size 12's until i bought a pair of Piloti shoes. The right shoe has extra rubber on the right side of the sole, its like an extension for reaching the gas pedal.

No matter what size your feet are, heel and toe, despite its name, is done using the sides of the right foot (the ball for the brake, the right edge for the throttle). So you're not doing it any differently than anyone is, or at least, should be.

Carpeted console is right. This is the correct way to rev match when shifting..
The name 'Heel and Toe' came about in the early 1900's of cars, when the gas pedals was between the clutch and the brake. This essentially reversed the pedals from today. That and the pedals were further apart, with little/no dash to interfere required people to put their heel on the gas and their toes on the brake to heel and toe.

I heel toe with my heel and toe, not the side of my foot. I'm not saying that side of the foot is wrong - I imagine a lot of people do it this way. But I've read enough racing books and seen enough racing videos to know that "real" heel-toe is not wrong.

Size 13 here and 6'2". Seat's all the way back. The only way I can control both the throttle and the brake is to either use the ball of the foot on the brake and the edge of the foot on the gas, or the heel on the brake and the toe on the gas, which is awkward at times, but works.
