Arrow big foot

so i wanted to try doing some heal toe driving, cause i hate trying to go around a corner and down shift and having to wait until i come off the brake to do the rev match....

so i went out to try at low speeds, and i literally could not do it, my foot is just too damn long.... so i started doing it with the sides of my foot. the inside edge of my foot on the brake and outer edge on the gas. it works fine and i don't feel like my foot will slip off the brake.

i was just wondering if anyone else has the big foot problem, or if anyone else just finds it easier to do it with the sides of their feet.

oh and if you are wondering i have size 15 feet

Size 15. How the hell do they fit in the car? It is easier for my to heel toe at higher RPM's. That is code for driving a little more aggressively. For me it is harder to learn to do it when just driving at "normal" speeds. I could never get the timing down. When I drove a little harder it was just a "punch" of the gas as I was down shifting and that just came more naturally to me. Now I can do it at any speed.

Just keep practicing and it will come to you. Ohh!! The first time you get it just right and it is smooth as mothers milk trust me you will be hooked.

you think you have problems....I've been dealing with the problem of not being able to properlly heal toe because of my size 17 feet. no joke.

I've developed what I call the side foot toe technique. I can hit the gas pedal with the corner of my foot. Thats as far as it goes. I think by lowering the seat, and moving the steering wheel further forward will help some too.

^ i think that we might be talking about the same thing, do you actually use your heel on the gas, or just sort of the side of your foot.

oh and how tall are you, i'm 6' 2

so you must be what 6'4?

how you fit, i mean at 6'2 i'm comfortable but the seat is all the way back...

Yup we are talking about the same thing. I use the side of my foot .

I'm 6'5, and hope I don't get any taller.

My seat right now fits me perfect, and if I was any taller then I would not fit in the car. I put the back of the seat forward, slide the bottom of the seat as far back as it would go, and then fold the back of the seat back against the panels behind it. This is the only way I fit.

I do however have to duck my head sometimes depending on the height of the street lights, and how close I am to them at the stop

^ you must get funny looks, i mean even me 3 inches shorter, get looks like "how the f**k does he fit"

i think that it is all in hot you sit and how long your legs are, cause my 6'0 freind says that the seat doesn't go back far enough for him, and no i'm not talking about the pass seat

Interesting question. I actually do the toe/toe as well and I only wear a size 10. I have been doing this for atleast 8 years and basically have it mastered. It is probably not the best way to do it because I have to admit that I have slipped off the brake before(in the crx) but, it has become second nature for me. I don't think I could "brake" this habit. Interested to see how many people actually drive this way... FESS UP!
