I've developed an attitude that it will be messed up in service every time, it will be needlessly road tested and redlined, and every time I park there will be a door ding when I return.

If your expectations are minimal, it's tough to get too dissappointed...

My dealer gave me the option of whether or not to get the VIN number mark on the engine bay or not.

I declined to have it put on.

I did get the stickers for the manual though....

yeah tmorrow. I second that. I was hesitant to take it in for the plug recall. I thought about doing it myself. But I thought what the heck, It'll be official if anything happens. But I didn't expect them to wash it for me. Now I know. You're taking a chance everytime you take it in. You'd think they know better.

Why would you decline this? This makes no sense to me - it's not like it devalues your car in any way...

They squeegied my window diagonally with a window cleaner that must have had a sharp edge on it. Now I have 4 spiderweb thin scratches on my windscreen that are only visible when the sun is at a certain angle. Didn't notice it for a couple days, since it needs to be at a certain angle, but I'm certainly not bringing my car back to that dealership.

Try the 3M compound. It'll take the swirl marks right off.
